Elements of GD_Alexis.Lymus

 1.Grid

Grids are guidelines that assist the designer align elements in relation to each other. The grid helps with consistency and structure along with making the layout process more effective. This provides the base work for form and content.

2.Pattern

Patterns can help the designer build endless variation and build complexity. There are three basic forms. Isolated elements, linear elements and cross-crossing. In Simple terms they can be called dots, stripes, and grids. Patterns are a result of repetition is an important principle.

3.  Point, Line, Plane

Point, line, and plane are building blocks of design. Point: a point marks a position in space, it has a pair of x and y coordinates. A point can be an insignificant fleck of matter or a concentrated locus of power. Though its scale, position, and relationship to its surroundings, a point can express its own identity or melt into the crowd. Line: is an infinite serious of points, its has length, but no breadth. A line is the connection between two moving points. Planes is a flat surface extending in height and width. A plane is the path of a moving line; it is a line with breadth.

4. Balance and Rhythm

4.Balance is fundamental to design, it acts as an catalyst of form. visual balance occurs when the weight of one or more objects are distributed evenly and or proportionately. There are two different main  types of balance there is a symmetrical and symmetrical. Rhythm is strong , regular ,repeated pattern. Balance and rhythm work together to create works of design that achieve stability and surprise.

5. Hierarchy

Hierarchy is expressed through naming systems: general, colonel, corporal, private and so on. It is also conveyed visually throughout vacation in scale, value , color, spacing, placement, and other signals. Can be simple or complex, rigorous or loose, flat or  highly articulated.

6. Modularity

Modularity is a special kind of constraint, a module is a fixed element  used with a larger system or structure. A well defined constraint can free up the thought process by taking some decisions off the table. in creating a page of typography, the designer can chose to work within the constraints of one or two type families and explore different elements.
