Project 2_Alyssa Perez-Rodriguez

Progress 1: For my design I used ellipses, rectangles, lines, text, gradients, and the shape builder tool. I'm planning on trying out designs for 3 different businesses, the first one being a bakery.

Progress 2: I spruced up my first design and adding some definition in the cupcake holder by adding rectangles and angling them, as well as adding texture. I created the baking tools from rounded out rectangles and cutting out ellipses. For my second design I used text, lines with texture, ellipses, and the letter "E" for the handle of the cup in the same font as the title.

Progress 3: I had completely misunderstood the project requirements before, but I settled on working on coffee shop logos. My first design is more of a casual approach, while the second has more of a retro, urban feel. The third design is going to be a bit more modern and fancier. When making the second design, I used lines, ellipses, rectangles, gradients, type, the shape builder tool, and the eraser tool to make the lines in the ellipses. For the handle of the cup, I used the letter E.

Progress 4: I worked on finishing the third design in class. Compared to the others, this one has more of a modern and professional look to it. This one used a lot of ellipses. Like in the second design, to create the coffee bean I put two ellipses together, used the shape builder tool to take the shape they made in the middle, and used the eraser tool to draw a line down the middle to split them. To create the cup, I placed a rectangle and rounded the lower left and right corners, and I also used an "E" to make the handle like in previous designs but in a different font. To make the steam for the cup I used the curvature tool. I used the hexagon shape to make the outline of the entire design, and ellipses of a lower opacity for the background. I thoroughly enjoyed making these designs, it forced me to think in various ways and to try different themes/moods. I kept a consistent color palette for all three since my business' colors are primarily brown and green. Plus, those are usually colors associated with coffee. I like the first and third designs the most, however I think I'm leaning more towards the third one.

Progress 5: I worked on the business card, envelope, and letterhead. I tried to keep a consistent theme throughout them all, and tried to have them fit with the logo.
